Your apps are the biggest consumers of energy and resources on iPhone. Therefore, if you configure them more correctly, you will be able to speed up your iPhone. You may have to get rid of some applications, temporarily unload others from your phone, and still others simply limit your resources. Depending on how important performance is to you, you may be able to find your ideal balance.

#1 Update to the iOS version

Updating your device’s software is the most crucial and basic step to protect it from security breaches and ensure optimal performance. Many of us may not be diligent about installing the latest updates, but you can simplify the process by enabling the “Automatic Updates” option in Settings > General > Software Update. While you might hesitate to update immediately and prefer to wait a few weeks to allow for bug fixes, Forbes suggests combating “update fatigue” and updating right away.

    #2 Delete Unnecessary Apps

When your storage is nearing capacity, you may notice significant device slowdowns, causing serious performance issues. How to make your iPhone faster? It’s crucial to regularly clean up your iPhone and ensure it can handle the load it carries. Thankfully, freeing up space on your iPhone is a simple task.

To clean up iPhone apps you can use a special application. If you have a Phone Cleaner on hand, you can quickly get rid of any junk. With the best free CleanUp app for iPhone, you can quickly find the cause of the contamination and remove it. The best part is that CleanUp has smart search, so your manual steps are kept to a minimum.

For a more detailed insight, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. There, you’ll find a list showing the last time each app was used and how much storage it consumes. This will help you decide which apps to offload or delete. Offloading preserves app documents and data while freeing up storage by removing the app itself. It’s a great option if you don’t use an app often but might want it in the future. Just select the app from the list and tap “Offload.”

    #3 Turn Off Location Services

Many apps have continuous access to your location, even when not in use, which can drain your battery and strain your device. To disable location services or adjust app settings for location access, follow these steps:

    1. Open Settings and go to Privacy & Security.
    2. Tap on Location Services.
    3. To completely disable location services, toggle off the Location Services switch at the top.
    4. To modify settings for specific apps, scroll down and select the desired app. Then, choose an option to allow location access or toggle off Precise Location.

    #4 Close Down Background Apps

If you frequently use many apps on your iPhone or iPad, you’ll notice that they remain open in the background. Apple claims that this doesn’t impact performance, but occasionally closing these apps might enhance your device’s speed.

Closing background apps on your iPhone is effortless. Simply swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone or iPad screen to reveal all the open apps. Drag these apps to the top of the display to close them. It’s as simple as that.

    #5 Disable Background App Refresh

Your phone’s battery might drain faster than expected, even if you’re not actively using it, usually due to background-running apps. These apps, while mapping or geolocating your device, can significantly impact battery life and overall performance.

To mitigate this issue, you can manually swipe up and close unused apps. Alternatively, navigate to Settings > General > Background App Refresh to disable it for unnecessary apps running in the background.

#6 Clear Temporary Data in the Browser

If you, like me, frequently browse the web and visit various websites using your iPhone, your Safari browser may become slower over time. One way to enhance the speed of Safari is by clearing your website history and data.

Performing this task on your iPhone is straightforward. You can accomplish it by following these steps: Go to Settings, then select Safari. From there, choose Clear History and Website Data. The system will prompt you to confirm if you want to delete your history and website data. It is important to note that this action only deletes the data from visited websites and does not remove any stored passwords on your device.

    Sum Up

If you can get your apps in order, all that’s left to do is sort out your personal data. Then your iPhone will start working perfectly. Even actions with applications are enough to significantly speed up your smartphone and improve personal productivity. You can also clear temporary data from other applications such as Telegram, Viber and others.
